24 Holter ECG monitoring consists of an electrocardiogram that analyzes the heart rhythm for 24 hours on an outpatient basis, so admission is not and it allows the patient to perform a normal live.
The test is performed using a recorder that can be hung as a necklace or on belt set, and collects the information through wires that are attached to the patient’s body, under the clothes, with single use adhesives. In such recorder is saved every heartbeat for 24 hours and the information is analyzed by the cardiologist the next day when the recorder is returned to the centre.
This test can diagnose symptoms that occur occasionally, since, in these cases, electrocardiogram at the time of the visit may be normal. It is a very useful test for studying palpitations or dizziness.
